Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic (SVVC) is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental care as well as alternative therapies.
Dr. Andrew Carlton and his team provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of referral laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. SVVC includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-hospital x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and a separate closely supervised quarantine area for those cases in need.
At Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic recognizes the need for alternative therapy for our four legged companions and Dr. Canny has many years experience in this field.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used for over 3000 years for the benefit of both humans and their animal companions. Acupuncture, herbs and dietary modifications are used to help bring the body back into a balance where it can heal itself. The ultimate goal of this field of study is to identify the source of the problem so that the symptoms will be relieved as the cause itself is treated. Acupuncture is most commonly used in the treatment of pain and musculoskeletal problems, while herbs and dietary modifications are most often used to treat chronic internal diseases. However, there are many instances of overlap where both modalities are used, and by integrating these therapies with standard medical diagnoses and treatments the best possible outcomes can be obtained.
