The Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic team of skilled veterinarians welcomes you to our practice. We have been proudly serving the Oro Valley and the Northwest Tucson area since 1989. At Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic, it is our daily privilege to provide quality vet care to your cherished pet, with compassion and competence. We hope to ensure a positive impact on our patients, pet owners and the local community.

Dr. Andrew Carlton

A Tucson native, Dr. Andrew Carlton graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Traveling to a colder climate, he attended Michigan State University where he completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He worked as an emergency hospital veterinarian for over five years prior to and after opening Sahuaro Vista.

Dr. Carlton opened Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic in 1989 and the clinic soon became an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certified hospital. He has been a veterinarian for the Arizona Department of Racing for over 20 years. Dr. Carlton has served on advisory committee’s for Pima Animal Control, as well as, the Amphitheater School District, was a member of the Pima County Board of Health, Southern Arizona Medical Association board, and a consultant for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, visiting his children and grand children, traveling, and generally keeping busy whether it be at home or making upgrades to the hospital.

Dr. Rachel Temkin

Dr. Rachel Temkin is a graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine located in Columbus, Ohio and she has been practicing since 2004. Her experience includes several years of emergency work at local veterinary emergency hospitals here in Tucson.

Dr. Temkin graduated Magna cum laude with a BA in Anthropology and minors in Biology and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. While attending The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine she volunteered with the Remote Area Medical Service immunizing, neutering, and spaying cats and dogs under the supervision of her veterinary mentor. She also volunteered with Amigos de las Americas which promotes health and community sanitation programs in Oaxaca, Mexico as well as constructed gardens and nutritional programs in Paraguay.

She joined Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic in 2011. She enjoys the relationships formed with the patient and clients here. The high quality medicine and surgery practiced here ensures the care provided is excellent. Dr. Temkin states that she loves spending her free time with her husband and sons. They enjoy spending time in the pool during the hot summers and traveling to exotic places.

Dr. Sean Crocker

Dr. Sean Crocker grew up in Dallas, TX but has been in Tucson since he was 13. He went to high school at Ironwood Ridge and graduated in 2004. He attended the University of Arizona and received his Bachelor’s in Science in Veterinary Sciences there in 2008. He also spent time working for Sahuaro Vista while he was both in high school and at the University of Arizona.

Dr. Crocker attended veterinary school at Colorado State University and graduated there in 2012. While attending veterinary school, Dr. Crocker also completed the Medical acupuncture for Veterinarians course that certified him to perform veterinary acupuncture. Since graduating veterinary school, Dr. Crocker returned to Tucson where is has been in small animal practice (both general practice and urgent care) ever since. His interests in veterinary medicine include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, pain management and preventative care.

In his spare time Dr. Crocker enjoys spending time with his friends, family, and his dog Kobe. He enjoys sports (both watching and playing – Go Wildcats!), reading, movies, and traveling.
